Patient Resources
Your Comfort
is Our Priority
To ensure you have the best possible experience at Day Dental, we encourage all our patients to review our office, insurance, health, and safety policies. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at (403) 227-0228 to speak with our friendly staff.
Office Policies
It is your responsibility to keep track of your upcoming dental appointment. Our staff will send reminder emails, text messages, or social media messages for your convenience.
Bearing these special needs in mind, our clinic requires a minimum of 2 business days notice if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.
Insurance
Due to the Canadian Personal Privacy Act, we are unable to access any specific information from your dental insurance company regarding your dental plan. Not all dental insurance plans are the same which makes it important for you to understand your specific plan details before your appointment with us.
We offer direct billing to your insurance provider for your appointment, but please ensure you have your insurance details prepared for your appointment.
Most dental plans cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care. Your particular policy may cover treatments and services at a fixed fee schedule, which typically does not coincide with our fees. In these cases, the difference in fees not covered by your insurance company becomes your responsibility to pay and will be invoiced to you once we receive payment from your dental plan.
We require payment for your estimated or exact patient portion on the day of service. For your convenience, we offer several payment options:
- Cash
- Credit Card: Visa & MasterCard, American Express
- Interac Direct Payment
- Pre-arranged Financing
Health & Safety
Your health and safety is our top priority. Our goal is to exceed the Alberta Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association safety and sterilization guidelines with the use of hospital-grade sterilization equipment and by following strict sterilization practices.
All of our dental team wears non-latex gloves, face masks and protective eyewear for every appointment. We use disposable products as much as possible and sterilize tools that are not disposable.
Our Sterilization Practices
- Autoclave [pressurized steam]
All dental instruments and handpieces [drills] are sterilized in a high-pressure steam autoclave after each use. Our computerized autoclave warns us in the event of an incomplete sterilization cycle, and as an added precaution, we also use an external biological indicator test to ensure that our autoclave is functioning properly and producing sterile instruments. - Surface Decontamination
All surfaces including countertops, dental chairs, stools, light handles and control buttons are disinfected with chemical solutions before and after every patient. These solutions eliminate infectious bacteria and viruses and the chemicals themselves pose no health threat to our patients. - Disposable Items
Many of the items we use today are discarded after a single-use. These items include saliva ejectors, high-speed suction tips, drinking cups, rubber cleaning cups, patient bibs, tray covers, sterilization bags, mixing pads and tips, anesthetic carpules, and needle tips, among others. Gloves and masks are also discarded after each use.
